Born in Melbourne, Australia and lifelong Liverpudlian, ML Chambers was no natural-born classicist. Her first encounter with the material came when she stumbled into the wrong lecture hall, hung over and unaware she was supposed to be in her Chinese 102 language seminar, she became entranced by a lecture comparing the works of poetesses Corinna, Anyte and Sappho. Despite being engrossed in the wrong course material, she found herself sent on a tailspin by the reading assigned in the dregs of the wrong lecture. The works of these ancient poetesses sent her on a deep dive through the bowls of ancient love poems, hymns and of course, the epics.

With a passion for ancient tales and a profound understanding of their enduring significance, ML Chambers now invites readers to embark on a similar journey through time, where Gods and Mortals come to life in vivid detail. Drawing inspiration from classic myths while challenging the modern sensibilities so often accosting them by her contemporaries, ML Chambers crafts a narrative that not only entertains but also provokes thought about the human condition.
